Favorite Food Friday: Tasty Kitchen

A few weeks (maybe a month ago now) Ree, The Pioneer Woman (aka P-Dub, PW, etc.) started her food conglomerate called Tasty Kitchen. Users submit their recipes (subject to P-Dub’s approval) and it’s basically one of the best recipe sites I’ve been to. All the users are (probably) avid readers of The Pioneer Woman, so you know they (probably) know a little bit about cooking. I completely blame The Pioneer Woman and Tasty Kitchen for my new found desire to cook.
I never wanted to cook really before. I mean, I always liked to cook. It was fun. I loved cooking with my dad, having him show me all his tricks. I hated having to cut the onions (which he made me do because he knew I hated it) and touching raw meat (I distinctly remember him making me shove my hands into a bowl of ingredients that needed to be mixed for his meatloaf). I still have a thing about touching raw meat, but it’s getting better.
I love to cook now. I can’t wait to try the next creation. Matt loves when I cook and I’ve only had a few failures (luckily) so he encourages me to do it more. I have 57 recipes saved in my Tasty Kitchen recipe box. I’ve tried a few, and given a few my own twist. I haven’t made anything from Tasty Kitchen which has been awful, which makes me want to continue to go back for more.
Next on my list? Anything with pasta, goat’s cheese, and blue cheese (not necessarily together). I might go a little crazy this weekend since Matt’s going to Cleveland for a few work meetings.
I probably won’t make it all, but some of it. I can’t wait to find what I’m going to cook next.

Technically, Tasty Kitchen itself isn’t a food, but it’s got enough food involved I think it counts as a Favorite Food Friday.
