Today was hell, this week has been hell (well, if you start your new week on Monday). I’ve been on more medicine than should be allowed. Taken off from work. Probed, prodded and made a fool of. Oh, and I found out that I’m no longer allowed to eat from my favorite food groups: dairy and caffeine. Boo on that crap.
I’ve become started my transformation to a Yuppie. This week I was finagled into shopping at Whole Foods (probably the center of the pretentia universe) because the local grocery stores don’t have the availability of non-dairy foods that I’d like. Ok, I could just pony up and start eating salad, but if you can’t put cheese on it, why go through all that hell.
This week I was introduced to Amy’s Pizza by Gin, the coolest woman around. They make one that has no cheese (can you say FREAKING YEAHHH!), and it’s actually amazing. Considering I’m the pickiest eater in the world, and the fact it has artichokes and onions on it made it difficult to like. I’m notorious for picking around onions on EVERYTHING. You can cook with them all you want, but if I see one, it’s on the plate or in the garbage. I haven’t even been a fan of artichokes, the whole peeling back the crap with your teeth part is gross (the dipping it in butter, I’m a fan of). I digress. I am IN LOVE WITH THIS PIZZA.
As soon as I’m able to eat actual food again (note, not just liquid … tomorrow) I’m going to try my own version. Gin let me borrow her bread machine and I found a kick ass recipe for pizza dough. It’s going to be a mess in my kitchen tomorrow, and I can’t wait.
